Bloodstock Mortality Insurance
All Risks of mortality insurance being death by accident, sickness or disease, including:
- Euthanasia on Humane Grounds by a qualified Veterinary Practitioner
- Theft and Unlawful removal
- Transit within and between Australia / New Zealand
- 30 Day Extension Clause
- Cover available from 24 hours of age
- Cover available for overage horses
Extensions Available to Standard Bloodstock Mortality Policy:
- 12 Months Extension Clause
- Total and Permanent Infertility (As a result of an accident, sickness or disease) on all stallions or stallion shares
- Congenital Infertility (Stallion First Season at Stud Cover)
- Stallion Availability / Loss Of Income Extension
- Aggregate Excess Policies Available
Extensions Available to Standard Bloodstock Mortality Policy:
- 30 days after birth OR
- 12 Months after birth
Livestock Mortality Insurance
Alpaca's and Llama's - All Risks of mortality insurance being death by accident, sickness or disease, including:

- Transit within and between Australia / New Zealand
- 30 Day Extension Clause
- Cover available from 24 hours of age
- Cover available through until 12 years of age
Extensions available to standard Livestock Mortality Policy
- 12 Months Extension Clause
- Total and Permanent Infertility (As A Result of an accident, sickness or disease) on all stud male alpacas
- Aggregate Excess Policies Available
Other Livestock
Sheep / Goats / Bulls / Cows / Calves etc - same policy wording but different age limits for various stock.
Short Term Transit Insurance Policy
Effected locally through Chubb Insurance Australia, we have a scheme available to cover your animal from Country to Country including 30 days after arrival at final farm destination.
Vet Certificate Requirements
- Bloodstock New Business Required on all horses insured in excess of $30,000 / aged over 12 years / or where
Total and Permanent Infertility cover on a stallion is taken out where the Vet must include
specific reference to external genitalia. A Vet Certificate should also be obtained if your
horse has been sick or injured in the past 12 month period, irrespective of the sum insured.
- Bloodstock Renewals: As above but the limit is $50,000
- Alpacas New Business Required on all alpacas insured in excess of $20,000 or where
Total and Permanent Infertility cover on a stud male alpaca is taken out where the Vet
must include specific reference to external genitalia. A Vet Certificate should also be
obtained if your alpaca has been sick or injured in the past 12 month period,
irrespective of the sum insured
- Alpacas Renewal: As above but the limit is $30,000
- All Other Livestock: Vet Certificates required irrespective of value and noting
Specific reference to external genitalia on any Infertility Extensions
- Transit Covers: Vet Certificates required on all stock irrespective of value.
